Its true,1200# and has a 30" skull but the hunter (Mitch Rompola) is not interested in the hype and headaches associated with killing a world record so he will not allow it to be photographed or a tape measure put to it...
If it hasn't been "recorded" then it isn't a world "record" is it? Maybe it could be but unless some recognized organization verifies themeasurements then all it is is a claim and un-verifiable claims aren't worth a proverbial tinkers damn.

Based on what i've read here about the hunter not wanting any measurements or photos taken I highly doubt the validity of the story.

Apparently you have never heard of Mitch Rompola or you would realize that I was being sarcastic. I mean really, 1200# and a 30" skull haha...

well if there was one that big in pa it wasnt recorded by the pgc because there is no record of a bear being taken that big. obviously someone saw a bear and cant judge the weight very well, people were telling me my bear had to weigh 250 to 300lb when they saw it but it actually weighed 222lb live 188 dressed

do a search on the "rompola buck" a guy (Mitch Rompola) supposedly shot the new typical whitetail record. However there only exists one picture of the buck and its very very questionable. The deers ears are hung way back, and some speculate he sliced open the hide and inserted a fake pair of antlers. And afterwards he will not allow the rack to be xrayed or even viewed for that matter, because he says "hes not interested in being in the books". My opinion about it is irrelevant, but he has caused quite a controversy. And yes pocamoke I got your sarcasm, I almost spit my soda out when I read it, it was funny

there is no way a 1200lb(1200 would be a new world record)bear was taken. that thing must have a weight set, and take steroids like crazy. from what i heard, the biggest so far was 755 field dressed.

are you sure they didnt just bury it and are waiting for national geographics to uncover it. can anyone with a photo shop program at least put up a picture to emulate what it would look like?
