Default GOT A DOE!!!

Last evening, my best friend and I decided to switch stands for the evening hunt. He went to my stand, and, I was going to go to his stand. I decided instead of that, I was going to go up to my ladder stand in some brush above a powerline (the spot I saw the 17 point last year). Anyways, I climbed up my ladder and sat down. The tree I was in was a big narly old white oak. It has low branches that grow out from the sides of the tree and grow horizontally. I was wearing my RealTree High Definition Hardwoods Green.

I placed out two Tinks Scent Bombs which I put Still Steamin Doe Urine in. Right at primetime, I closed my eyes and said my little prayer to god thanking him for this experience and telling him that if he sent a deer my way, I would try my hardest to make a good clean kill. Well, I opened up my eyes, and there are 4 deer about 30 yards to my right. They were on the other side of soem brush, and, they were not on their way towards me. Well, the lead deer, a big doe, smells my scent bomb, and somehow manages to walk through the thick brush just to smell it. She came into about 13 yards, but never game me a good shot, she was always quartering towards me. Well, she smelled it for awhile, then started walking back to where she came from. She got out to 23 yards and turned broadside. I drew back and put my pin right on her. I slowly squeezed my release just as she turned a little quartering away. My arrow hit a little far back, but, it had angled through her so that it took out the liver and a lung. She took a couple jumps and fell. She had ran no more than 15 yards and fell. I watched the whole ordeal from my stand, and, she was expired in mere seconds.

She was a pretty big doe, I estimated that she would go around 120 pounds field dressed.

The other deer with her were her two fawns (both almost as big as she was and both button bucks) and a SMALL 2 point. I can't call it a spike because its antlers were in the shape of main beams, not spikes, but, it just didn't have any points growing on them.

My friend had a pretty good day. He saw 5 doe and two silver fox.

Well, when we drug my deer out to the powerline that we were going to pick it up at, right before we left to get the truck, I heard something running towards us in the brush. We just froze. Then, a little red fox comes out just feet from us. It had its nose way up in the air. It took one more step towards my doe, and I let out the biggest, most scary growl you could imagine. That little bugger took off so fast.

I didn't take pics with my digital camera because its batteries are dead, but, I did take them with my regular camera. They were the only two pictures on it, so, whenever I use that roll up, I will get it developed and post some pics.
