Default Penn wheres the talk on antler restriction.

I am expecting to hear stories of Big Deer.

Do you still have restrictions?

Yes. Still have ARs. I've only hunted for a day and a half this year. One day was in horrible weather. I saw a nice 6-pointer close up but did not shoot.

Too numerous to mention. We had a new record archery buck taken late last year along with numerous other monsters. So, to answer your question, YES, we still have AR's and YES, they ARE working very well.

The rumor mill says that another, BIGGER buck was taken already THIS year. I have friends who hunt up there and they all report much better bucks being seen and taken.

I wish they'd put AR's in place in MD.

Amazing......
According to some armchair experts on these boards, you could not save a buck for another year or two. "They would all die over the winter or be shot as antlerless when their racks fell off like clockwork the week after buck season" is what some said. I don't know where the monsters in other states come from in that case. I like what I see, personally. The good ol' days are here and now for buck hunting in PA. Better enjoy it while it lasts, for nothing good lasts forever.

Seeing bucks and darn good bucks at that. I'm also hearing of a larger number of big bucks taken. Go to any taxidermist shop and see what they say....now is definately the best buck hunting PA has had.

Just a few months ago in this forum it was absolute doom and gloom for deer and deer hunters in PA.

It took a while but its great to hear some positive hunting news from the front lines.
I hope everybody up there has a great year, and post them pics

I have seen a total of 40 deer thus far since the season opened.......maybe 8 total days?
Anyway of those 40 deer, 1............that's 1 was a buck, and a 1.5yr old ear width spike.

I don't know what the deal is.......I know there are some good deer around, those 40 antlerless deer don't multiply on their own.

I saw 18 deer in a cut hayfield tonight and all were antlerless.

Well if there's a silver lining, come the rut, where there's does there will be bucks. (I hope)
