does anyone here hunt near cohocton or avoca. i do most of my bowhunting here and will be going there for the first time this weekend. i was wondering about the deer population and if anyone is seeing any big bucks.

My best friends hunts up there every year but they havent made it up this year. Keep me posted i'm sure he'll be anxious to hear if you're see any numbers. Good luck.

I live and hunt in the next town over (east) from Avoca in WMU's 8P and 8R. Things are looking pretty good here in my hunting area anyways...there's been 7 or 8 nice 2.5/3.5 yr. old buckshanging around the alfalfafields and a mess of does and fawns too. I haven't got to hunt much yet, but I'vegot the next 3 daysoff of work and am pretty excited about getting out there tonight. There was a bruiser of a buckfeeding out in the cut cornfield behind my house last night.I caught a quick glance of him through binos and he was at least a wide, heavy 8-pt.I'd sure like to have him come walking by my stand. I know 2 guys from the areawho have already passed up 8-10 different bucks. Good luck.

How is the season going in Steuben? I hear it's been a little slow with the rain and wind? I am headed to Hornell this Friday (10/28) for a week of bow hunting.
