I dont know if it is a rumor but someone told me that NY State is trying to start a program similar to "Earn a Buck" like parts of NJ has. They say mild weather and hunters only seeking bucks is causing over population?????????

I think it might be a good ideal, our doe population is so out of wack. Filling the freezer with a doe first might take the pressure off the smaller bucks. The passed couple years we've been as a standard practice filling all our doe tags the first day or two. Then we get seriously involved in taking a nice buck; which have gotten bigger every year.

This sounds as if it would be a good idea. I know that in the SZ, it would be great; at my camp in the NZ, we had two game wardens and a forest ranger tell us the same thing. I figure that we'll use the muzzleloader seasons for that.

I agree, sounds good I have no problem with filling doe tags first. besides i think they taste better than abig buck. But the horns look better on the wall.
