RE: NJ's Slaughter Deer Regs

I agree with all of you. I've hunted the Northern Zones for the last 5 years ( 4, 5, 2, mostly) and watched the herd decline in #'s every year. This year is the first year i won't be hunting NJ because of the lack of deer. That and $135 for an out-of-state license. We rented a cabin up on a mountain and hunted the first week of the season for 5 years straight and had a blast every year until now.
I wish they would cut back on the bag limits and let the heard return to the way it was 4 years ago. Its a shame.

I have some pics from our trips posted on my site, check them out.

I still say there are plenty of deer! It's where you hunt! Sure the deer are push out of WMA during the day from all the hunters. On posted land around my home it's nothing to see 30 deer a morning.
I started hunting in 1969. Back then we had a 1 day doe season! 6 day bucks only & a month of bow
hunting, that's it! there were years I never seen a deer! I hunted warren county farms so I was in deer country. I worked for fish & game in the 70's & 80's. I also had to do deer checking. The Great Meadows station would get like 180 deer for the week. Then we would say there was no deer left!
