This week has been killing me. Why Bloomsburg University plans for me to have 4 exams the week before archery seasonbaffles me, clearly i'm not gonna do **** to prepare for them. I couldnt concentrate if my life depended on it. I have a surface Hydrology test tomorrow and all i can think about is that little pie head prancing down that trail right to me. Well i guess i better go try to study. Good luck everyone.

Dear god yes, we've only been waiting for what? a year?

...the treestands were hung in the oak trees with care,
hoping Buckzilla soon would be there...

I can't wait for Saturday. I can't wait until first light when the woods come alive and than hearing that first deer come walking towards your stand. Hopefully I will be able to get some sleep on Friday night.

First time in proabably 20 years that I am not going on the first day. Going to Montana for a weeklong deer and antelope hunt, and tuesday is my wifes B-Day. Figured I wouldn't stay out all day Saturday and then go out for a week on Monday. Day and dinner with the wife and kids before I leave.

Never really had great "buck" success on the first day anyhow. Usually filled the doe tag on that day. Has been pretty easy to do so over the past 10 years.

Good luck to everyone.

I'm seeing this guy everytime I am in the woods. He is gorging himself on acorns as they fall from the trees. He refuses to leave when I jump him. He will walk in a circle and come back in a few minutes to eat more. Only problem is that he is too young to take so early in the year.

I'm ready. I'm a bit cranky that the opening week I probably won't get to hunt but one evening...maybe I'm selfish or spoiled, but I'm used to hunting EVERY night.

I am as excited as usual, although opening day hardly ever lives up to the expectations we put on it. Usually too warm. I get really devoted about 2 weeks into the season. I don't try very hard on opening day for fear I will connect and my buck hunting days will be over so soon. The time in the woods is what matters most. If I got one this early you better believe he would have to be a monster. I prefer to hunt hard all season and connect on one late in the year. That is the ultimate dream season for me. I sure hope to see the 8 point that I posted a pic of. I really enjoy watching bucks even if I don't want to shoot one that young. If I make it to flintlock season with my buck tag intact though, he is in trouble!
