So you would support the elimination of hunting with firearms! Well I guess that pretty much categorizes you as an anti doesn't it?
If you say so. I'd categorize myself as a bowhunter, but you can call it what you like.

Anyone who would support the elimination of hunting with firearms is quite accurately labeled an anti hunter. Makes no difference to me that you would still support bow hunting. Bow hunting is a small part of the hunting tradition in america. To eliminate all other hunting except for bow hunting would quite effectively reduce the political strength of hunters to the point where bow hunting would be eliminated shortly there after. If it walks and talks like a duck, its a duck. You walk and talk like an anti hunter.

Nothing is more precise and humane for taking game than a rifle. Shooting with a semi auto will definately make followup shots more precise also, beacuse the hunter can stay on target and not be as rushed on 2nd and 3rd shots. The autoloading rifle should make hunting safer for the reasons above. Now the autoloader may allow the hunter one extra shot at game that he would not have gotten off with a bolt, but simply takingthat extra shot does not mean it is more dangerous.

johnl. I think you will agree that the situation Spickhorn 11 described would have been no different if the guns that were being raipid fired with no backstop were bolts or lever, or pumps wouldnt you?

Again, call it as you see it. I've probably done more to preserve the art and tradition of hunting than you may presume. I'll leave it at that.

Just remember, not everyone's political and social ideals are in line with your own. I'm a big boy, and I can handle the name calling. The fact is, IMO, your zealousness and hypersensitivity to any gun-related issue evidences your lack of generalunderstanding of the same, as well as how it relates to hunting.

It sounds to me like you guys are more concerned with gun laws than you are with hunting and safety.

A so called hunter calling for the elimination of hunting with firearms is IMO far more destructive to the "art and tradition of hunting" than anything you could possibly do to compensate on the preservation side. IMO, this kind of thing shouldn't even be allowed on a hunting forum.

I see no need to respond any further. Your views are pretty poignant, and self-destructive. You admittedly placeincreased value on putting deadly weapons in peoples' hands, with decreased attention to who is using them.

That sort of "me first" attitude shines through in your posts.

Stick to the political forums. You can't hurt yourself there.

You make some very valid points for semi's a quicker second shot etc. I just worry about the FEW idiots out there that shoot from the hip at anything that moves I hunted with a guy ONCE that emptied his semi shotgun and when I asked him what he was shooting at he said
"a deer " when I asked him buck or doe he didn't know. That was the last time I hunted anywhere near him
I have no problem with a responsible hunter using anything he or she wants to use
