Where you heading for PA's opener.

Figured I'd pass the time with a new post:

Opening day, I'll be in 3b (Sullivan county); after that I'll probably mostly bow hunt in the 5c area. Haven't harvested one yet with the bow so hopefully this will be the year.Hopefully we won't have a repeat opener like last year with all the fog and the Eagles will be 2-1!

Go Birds!!!

RE: Where you heading for PA's opener.

I will be at my usual spot in SGL 205 in Lehigh County. I spend 95% of my deer hunting time there with only one brief excursion up to Promised Land to hunt for the opening day of rifle.

My back yard,And hope someone chases me one,Not likely.this year I will have to wait till the third week for the handicap hunt. That is only one day and my only real chance for a deer. God bless the New Holland sports shop and the landowner of the camp ground and electric company who opens their property. And of course all the volunteers who help us get around.

So far all I know is I'll be somewhere in western PA. :) Seriously, I haven't yet decided where to go. Either 2B or 2D most likely since those are the 2 WMU's that I'll have doe tags for.

I'll be down in Crawford County (1B) at a piece of property my grandpa has. We've got 5 stands out there, and quite a few nice bucks.

This set of shed was found about 50 yrds from one of my stands. Actually the same stand that has a new scrape 20 yds away from it right in the middle of a shooting lane....those bucks are so kind...hopefully he'll be kind enough to show up on the 1st.

I will be Saskatchewan the whole first week[:@] I never thought I would rather be hunting PA then Saskatchewan. The reason is I am seeing an exceptional buck for PA. I have him figured out now but I am afraid the first week he will change his habits. I am not afraid of the hunting pressure. I am afraid of how the crops and food source changes after the first week:( Good luck to everyone!

Don't know yet. Somewhere in 2D. May hunt 2B in the evening. My 2B spots are generally when I have not much time to hunt and just need to be in the woods. I have little faith in them to actually produce much.

Cameron co. 2G, It will cost me around $80.00 in gas, not too many deer, but I got to get away from the traffic noise, dogs barking, lawn mowers, sirens and bird watchers. :D
Good luck to all.

For pa’s opener I will be driving some 2300 miles one way. (From Montana) With tolls it will cost me over $1,000.00 to get there and back. I would not miss it. I will be hunting north of Route 49 in Potter county.

Montana

I'll be in SE Sullivan County - on top of Red Rock Mountain. I might even run into Joe D. or PAJack up there. I think I owe PAJack a hoagie at the general store. Either that or the other way around. We'll probably meet up on my way to the taxidermist. I have to get my first Pope & Young buck mounted. After that, I'll probably not hunt too much and save up brownie points with the wife by working around the house and watching the kids. I'm heading to the Florida Keys for a week with my buddies to fish every day and buck season is only a few weeks after that. I have to save up my points;).

3D Monroe County. Hunt in Delaware Water Gap near2 golf courses! Have had some big bucks around the past few years which I was able to get on video. Have not had a shot at one of them as of yet. Hopefully this will be the year for one of those big boys! As long as they are not poached before the archery season opens!
