Any Ginseng hunters around?

Any ginseng hunters still around these parts?? I used to pick a lot when I was younger with my great grandpa, but now there's nobody to go with, and no time. Just wondering if any of you guys are still into it.

Is that the stuff that makes you stand up straight and tall?:)
That could possibly explain Gramps interest in looking for it.

I have some transplants growing behind my house, and I really like watching them grow/replanting the berries. I started with two plants, and now I'm up to about 15. I also transplanted a littlegoldenseal (yellowroot) patch. Good to go pick a fresh one when you feel a cold coming on.

I planted some of those stratified seeds and got some growth out of that too, I have a little bed of about 40 one-year-olds.

Good to see that people are still out hunting seng. I ran across a good patch turkey huntingtwo years ago, and picked them that fall. A little over a pound dry.
That was my last time out.

Nothing much prettier than a few four-prongers standing tall in a spice thicket. A lost art, if you will.

By the way, if any of you guys have hung up your seng diggers, andknow of any good spots to take a walk, pm me. Even if you're just looking for somebody to go with. I wouldn't mind going out and picking a few again.

Yes sir quicksilver as a kid ginseng to me was just like hunting and fishing, finding a big 4 prong was like seeing a big buck or a big fish !!! It sold for $16.00 a pound that's how I got my first bike. now it sells for over $600.00 a pound, when I see it in the woods now I don't dig it I pick the berrys and plant them near buy then when I retire in a couple of years I will know where to go dig it. ;)
