I'll take a doe during the early muzzleloader season and then concentrate on a good buck during the regular season.

I'll take the first mature doe I see. I usually had a 6 or better rule personally, but this year that's the only thing legal so I'll be taking the first legal buck. Next year it's very likely that I will have a personal goal of 8 points or better....only time will tell.

Gee, no wonder when outsiders look at hunters they only consider us drunken rednecks with no intellegence.
Nice image you're portraying there J. I'm glad we have you to represent typical PA hunters. <img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>

I don't like the "if its brown then it is down" saying simply because most folks usually see it as a negative attitude. But, I do plan on shooting the first deer that walks by my stand, provided it isn't a button buck or fawn.
My plan is to shoot one in the morning...take it home and process it...then head back out in the afternoon for another. The same intent applies for my afternoon hunt as well. If I don't take a buck in the morning then I will go for one in the afternoon. If a doe presents itself again then I will take another doe.
But, once I have two of my three doe tags filled then I will go strictly for a buck and save my last doe tag for either rifle or the after Christmas archery hunt.

I hope to shoot the first mature doe that walks by, for that matter the 2nd, 3rd...... I have been seeing more doe than buck this year from my camera. Last year we had just as many buck than doe. My plan is to keep hunting the doe and hopefully a buck will show sometime. For me it doesn't matter buck or doe, I just want an archery harvest and fresh jerky meat.
