New Jersey's Animal Task Force

While at the Ocean County Federation Meeting last night we recieved an open letter from George P. Howard the Executive Director of NJ Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs. The letter is a statement from Govenor McGreevey stating that the task forces roll is an effort to prevent prevent cruelty to NJs domestic animals and to address the burgeoning population of homeless animals and has nothing to do with NJs wildlife. The executive order creating the task force, which relates to domestic animals only, and makes no mention of wildlife. The Govenor also states that the responsibility to manage all wildlife falls under the jurisdiction of the NJ DEP.. He also stated that he is satisfied with wildlife policies implimented by the Division and the Fish and Game Counsel.

I know I feel a little better about the task force but only time will tell.

I trust McGreevey about as far as I can throw him. Maybe not even that far. We'll see. We're watching.

Any day spent huntin, is better than any day spent workin,,

That is where animals need protection and that is it. They shouldn't step over the line but unfortunately I agree with Duckmastor2.

Thanks for the post, however I don't trust McGreedy as far as I can throw him either. He is the man who said that hunters only have a bloodlust that they want to satisfy and made no mention of the fact that hunters are the single most effective way to reduce the herd to the carrying capacity of the land. Knowing him they won't bother hunters, they'll just charge some extremely exorbitant fees to try to end hunting and then say that there is no support for hunting in NJ.
