Remington Genesis Problems
I recently bought Remington Genesis, when it came to sighting in with the factory iron/fiber optic sights...
1st 3 shots 8"low 50 yards.... move rear ramp sight forward & up.... 2nd 3 shots 6" low 50 yards... move rear ramp sight ALL the way forward & up Next 3 shots 5" low at 50 yards... I can't move the rear sight any higher to adjust for shooting low. I want to have 1 muzzy with iron sights for Wisconsins Muzzy season ( no Scopes ) I was shooting a 240 grain Hornady/Sabot with 2-50 grain 777 pellets Do I need some kind of spacer under the rear sight??? No matter who shot the gun it consitently shot low. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! |
RE: Remington Genesis Problems
call traditions *they make the remington* and tell them of the problem. Also, you will get a lot more help if you post in the Blackpowder forum.

RE: Remington Genesis Problems
Clay - I believe you can use a scope for ML season in WI. Just no magnification. (1X). As for the iron sights - have you tried shooting at 75 or 100 yds? You may be plesantly surprised where it hits.

RE: Remington Genesis Problems
I had the same problem with mine. I'm shooting 300gr sst with 100 gr 777 (2 pellets). I was just talking with a guy at the range and he said lap the barrel so I did. With the site all the way forward it was dead on at 50 yds. after another 10 shots it was grouping good. Got a shot on a nice doe and put it over her back at 45-50 yds down hill of me. I had a 40 yd target for practice and I was 6" high. I guess he was right when he said it will rise when it breaks in and you will have to re-ajust the site. From what I have learned they do some type of coating on the barrel for storage purposes.

RE: Remington Genesis Problems
Why is this in the classified section? This needs to be moved to the muzzleloader discussion section.

RE: Remington Genesis Problems
Try going to 110 or 120 gr of loose powder and I'm sure it'll be a lot closer if not dead on. Ever think about scoping it?
