ok, from va, but I am intending to hunt se ohio on public land this year. I am about four hours away from the area (sorry, haven't decided YET on a place) I want to hunt. anyonw have any public hunting experience that they could maybe point me in the right direction here? I am not looking to steal any places, just general directions to go in...

Look in these ODNR ,look at SE Ohio ,Request information and permits to use public land owned by American Electric Power.
Request a map of public hunting areas owned by Mead Paper Company.
Request topographical maps & related information.
Here is another ODNR link for state forests..

After you look at the web sites call 1800WILDLIFE (1-800-945-3543) and ask for free maps .
They will send you 10 at one time .
I have called and ask for maps lots of times .
Ask for the free Mead paper and American Electric Power permits.

I would try Mead paper , American Electric Power , Wayne National ,Zalskee State Forest ,Turkey Run Public Hunting Area and Shawnee State Forest.
