RE: Best place to find sheds?
Field edges, bedding area, food plots, fence crossings, and really thick area where the deer might get their headgear knock off by low hanging branches.

I like the eating and bedding areas best because that is where the deer spend the most time. It is only natural that you will find more antlers where the deer have been for the most ammount of time.

Nice find turkey hunter!! I find two already this year and they were a matching pair! I couldn't believe my eyes. It is a really nice nine point. They are a little chewed but nothing to complain about. Good luck guys, - Buckhunter

Depending on where you live in whats been told above is the correct spots to look. I have a buddy in the Lasalle area that strictly concentrates on fence rows and crp fields. Most of the sheds that I have found have been in cultivated fields and big birch thickets with lost of honey suckle and multi flora rose bushes.

RE: Best place to find sheds?
A south facing hillside is always a good place to look. They like to bed on the south to catch the warmth from the sun and to stay out of the north wind.

if you look in feeding areas, you will find alot more, then just scouting the trails.

RE: Best place to find sheds?
I have found hundreds of the things and without a doubt, feeding areas produce a few, but bedding areas are by far the most productive. Bedding areas account for at least 80% of the final resting spots for the majestic crowns. Most don't realize that when a deer stands up, much like a dog, it shakes. And when it shakes, if anything is loose, it comes off. An added note; when you get those freak rain storms in the winter, thats jackpot. Lots of shaking going on and the crust that is created by the rain leaves em right on top. I'm always in the woods after a cold winter rain.
