RE: Wild Boar in Ohio??
Yes...I do. LOL Would you like to know?
I work with a guy that came back from an Ohio River trip this summer and talked of some guys shooting wild pigs on private unfenced land. I wouldn't have believed him had he not been a friend for years and had he not had PICTURES!
They were not Russian boars or anything....They were just gnarley old hogs...all colors and sized up to about 300 pounds. It was in a town near Galopolis, I believe.
He figured that they were just from a couple escaped hogs that had bred over the years...but who knows?

According to DNR-there are no known wild boars in Ohio. According to a guide on the southern border with Kentucky there are ferral hogs that have lived off the land successfully for years, hence they attain a size of around 300 pounds for the males and females alike. Almost any farmer or land owner on the border will let you hunt them because they are a nuisance for the land owner. I got two sows there 5 years ago on land about 100 miles east of Cincinnati. Just my opinion, but Russian Boar tastes better and is much more fun to hunt!
