Dark Blood indicates a hit where ?

Arrowed a buck on 25th, could only find 3 darks spots of blood, no arrow or other sign. four of us looked hard all night and the next day. No luck. The farmer is watching for buzzards and listening for coyoute concentrations but nothing yet. Where do you think he was hit ?

Liver?

Hard to tell exactly with that being all to go off of, but Liver would be a best guess. If you go back out to look for him I would try in heavy cover arround water. That sucks[:-] but I would not give up quite yet. If you can still find him you can figgure out where you hit him and sort of piece together how he acted after being shot. You won't be getting any meat off him but mabey learn something that can help you track one in the future, good luck.

Muscle hits are usually of a darker color, most liver hits will end up with some gut on the arrow but not always, and usually end up in more than a few drops of blood. My vote goes to some kinda muscle hit.

Either a muscle or liver shot.

Bright colored blood is oxygenated(arterial), and dark colored blood is non-oxygenated blood, so you could assume that it was from the extremities or the liver if it was a fresh blood trail.
