Fishing in Illinois....
#1
We will be going to Chicago in a couple weeks for my son's graduation from Navy basic training. While we're there, we thought we might also go fishing. I checked the Illinois DNR website and it says a 1-day non-resident license is $5.50 and includes trout and salmon privileges. Does anyone know if this is good for all bodies of water, specifically Lake Michigan?
Also, are there any good spots for bass in the Northern Chicago area?
Thanks guys!

Hey hntngirl,
There is soooo much fishing in Chicago and more specifically Lake Michigan. A Charter is the easiest route of course. I lived in Chicago for all my life until three months ago when I moved to Dallas. I found a website I wish I would have found YEARS AGO!!!!! I did'nt know about it until a few months before I moved. Caught lots of fish in those few month just because of this site.

Good luck out there. If you've never been there, Chicago/Lake Michigan is an AWESOME place to fish. It's fun to run the lakeshore and have a view of the city. At this time I don't belive you have to get out to far either. I would look into a good charter. It would be fun for the kids and you. Lots of cohos right now. Have fun out there.

If you drive down my way, I could take you fishing here!!
I can borrow a nice little boat take you to a nice little lake and then shove you off and run like the dikens!!!

When are you going to be down here? You will actually only be 2 hours away from me. Maybe we can meet and you can buy dinner or something.
