MO. january hunt went by the check station today

I went by the check station at noon today when i pulled up there was six deer there waiting in line to be checked five of those were button bucks and one was a big doe i talked to her for awhile and she said that 80 percent of the deer taken were buttons or shed bucks and she said she would keep track of the kill ratio for me so the next time mdc says five percent i am going to tell them their full of crap at least in the area i hunt, these will be the people who will be complaing about not seeing many bucks, sure hope this is the last year.

It is the last year from what I heard.

I am bow hunting but would only shoot a doe I KNEW was a doe. We have a 16 point running around, wouldn't that be horrible to get him after he shed? Uuugghhhh. At least we are south of 70 and not in the north area for the extension.

5%? Hell even our DNR don't cook the numbers that bad! They tell us 50% adult doe, 25% yearling doe, and 25% nubbins. All the time, every year. Yeah right. Late season antlerless hunts are wrong.

Sounds a little like Jersey where they are hunting until the end of Jan for "either-sex"!

Most of the kill however is buttons for some reason--I wonder why?
