Smoke1, What I hear and what are read are two different things. Most of the bow hunters at work I' ve talked to seem to think things just really got going about 2 weeks ago and should still be going strong for the opener:D. According to the WI DNR home page, the rut will be done by the time the season starts.[:' (] Then again, the DNR doesn' t always have its act together.

I was hunting in N. Kettle Moraine this week and saw alot of deer! Bucks chasing does down hills, a big 8 pointer humping a doe in the swamp, swollen necks and noses to the ground! Its on! Good luck!:)

thanks for all input,scored today, 6 point big body,had come into decoy
with a little grunting&doe bleat, bigger one slipped up behind me but couldnt get clean shot,called a little more bout 30min this one came in broadside at 15 yrds
heading right for the decoy!! awsome exiting hunt! there rutin hard right now!!

I heard there running now, im really hoping its still going during gun hunt, i need a deer, i didnt get a choice tag this season, so i need a buck!
bad part is im not doing good @ all 0/10, and its draining me out, i need a deer!

should still be in rut next weekend,since it seems as though it was about a week behind,so good luck and spend all day in the stand and im sure youll get a chance
at one!!!! Ill be doing the same in the big woods(schwammy) Im Out .....
