Default Michigan Timber Buyer

Hello. Can Anyone recommend a company or person who buys standing timber and has a good reputation? I am looking to get a bid on 30 acres of select cutting. I am in Michigan around the Milford, Howell area. Thanks

my best advice is get two or 3 different company's to come and do a estimate on your tree's
ask the first guy to use ONE color and the next to use different color markings and then your getting a price on same tree's
tell them right off AFTER they walk and count tree's
that who ever gives you best price gets the deal
and you have others coming after each!

also be very clear in what you want and expect
are you clear cutting, are you expecting them to clean things up, tops removed or left where they fall,
in piles
how much clean up you want adds to THERE costs and then less $$ to you!
are you doing any selective timbering, is this just for cash as much as you can get oir, you cutting for habitat improvement as well as future timbering?
A Good suggestion is have your local forester come bye and make suggestions to you, and ods are they can also recommend you some timber guys!
Timbering has a LOT of rules in my state, and anyone that DON"T follow will have a lot of citations and be well known for them by foresters!

also, what PART of MI are you in, lower Upper or??
might help to know, for suggestions!

that is most likely your best bet and then again getting more than one appraisal when you find some timber guys
