Another reason Illinois sucks, and not well either!

This popped up this
afternoon as an amendment to SB9 that proposes a soda tax in Illinois. Senate Bill 9 with Amendment #2


The bill would impose a 5% tax on any membership or access
> fees for a shooting range or gun club.

> That would include: Gun club and hunt club membership, Range
> access fees (commercial range/gun shops), and range rental
> fees. There would be a tax on training classes and match
> fees to the extent they apply to range access and not
> ammunition or training costs.

> imposed on the payment made, charged to the buyer, collected
> by the vendor, and remitted to the state. Returns would be

Please call your senators and urge them to oppose SB-9 with
its taxes on ranges, training and gun & hunting clubs.
They will be home all next week in their district offices.

DAMN I'm so glad I am moving from this thieving state!!! Pretty soon they are going to find a way to tax your damn air!!! $50 a month to breathe!!

Some of the worst legislation in every state rides under a seemingly harmless bill and falls under the radar. Trust government?????

There's a reason our state was #1 in population loss for 2016 and the few years prior as well I believe. Looking to buy now. I'd like to stay in the western suburbs for ease of travel within my work areas of WI & IL, but not only are the home prices 60% higher, but the taxes are five times higher. Really don't prefer to add mileage but looking more like I'll end up over the Indiana state line soon. Good thing I was lucky enough to grab an Illinois lifetime hunting license in 2007. At least that is not an influence in my decision making.

Is a lifetime licence purchased as a resident still going to be valid when you are a non resident? It would not be in my state.

What do you expect from the state that gave us OBozo?

Oldtimr, Not any more. That actually stopped in 2007 while my application was being processed. The CO that investigated me told me mine was possibly the very last one approved. So yes I can move out and still be valid.

I'd be on the other side of the river in a heartbeat, if it weren't for the wife. She has a pretty good job here and all our friends/family are here, so she wants to stay. I have bad feeling this state is gonna be one giant Detroit before long. They spent us into the poor house and now, rather than making the deep and painful cuts we all know are necessary, they're just gonna tax every last business till they leave. Then all that's left are politicians and state employees.
