? For Iowa Hunters

I have 4 points so its a good bet that I will draw a Bow tag for 2017. I plan on hunting zone 5 or 6. If you guys had to pick a week to hunt what week would you choose? Last week of October, first week of November or second week of November. The Full Moon is on November 4th and the New Moon is on November 18th.

Thanks

I hunt SE MN, about and hour north of the Iowa boarder. Our Rut activitiy Really picks up the last week of october and is usually at its peak the first weekend in November. I alway take time off to Bowhunt the first couple days in November before our gun season starts ( which has always been the first saturday) Not sure if that will help you any but I have had Very good luck in that time frame.

I second the first week of November if you can only be there for one week.

Thanks btnovotny and Topgun 3006. I was always thinking in the back of my Pee brain head the first week of November. BUT? I hate the full moon. So I'm thinking of splitting the difference. Oct 28th til Nov Nov 3rd. Thanks!!

I also have 4pts also and plan on hunting zone 4 this year. I have a friend with a farm there. I am told Nov 6-10 you need to be in a tree stand. I am going Nov 5-11.

Best of luck.

COLD. We were out when they got that big Snow storm that hit the East Coast. Thank god for my Heater Body suit!!! Seen lot's of Doe's and one Stud of a Buck during the snow storm. BUT, he seen me first. We hunted hard but late season is TUFF. SE Ohio is a great area and has some Nice Deer. Thanks for asking. Be safe!!!

I still have lot's of time to pick my dates. I'm going to wait for the 2017 Moon chart to come out to see what is the Red week for Nov and OCT. Good Luck on your Hunt. Thanks!!

Thanks, you too! Honestly I think anytime between the last week of Oct and the first 10 days of Nov you can't go wrong. The deer will be transitioning from pre rut to rut. It just depends on how hot the temps are as to how much daylight activity you will see.
