Indiana Hunting Reports 2013
 

It's about that time of the year again. This year I've had trail cameras out since April and got some good deer around. I still have some tree stand work to do and time is running out.

The Indiana threads here used to be amongst the most popular. For a state rarely talked about in professional circles for monsters, we always produce quality deer.

I used to own some great hunting land there in Porter County until my divorce. Often wished I could see the difference since OBR. I know the P&Y numbers dam near doubled since I moved away back in 06. Apparently the old reputation has still stuck though. Still a hell of a lot of rut gun days.

I have land in Ohio county and I have pics of several big deer and 1 giant. I love to hunt in IL but more and more I am really falling in love with our Indiana property.

Took a new treestand to the woods on Friday with my wife. On Saturday I went in and freshened up a food plot with new seeds. I checked my camera and 6 minutes after my wife and I left Friday 2 young twin 8pts walked by and bedded down in front of the camera for 4 hours. Was really cool but a SOB to delete all of the pics from the SD Card.

I can't wait!

Put a tri-pod up yesterday and checked my cameras. The beans are down and the corn is almost ready. Can't wait!

Great Indiana site is Antlertalk.com. Lots of good buck taken by the young ones this weekend.

October 5th and I've yet to be in a stand. Work and warm weather! UGH

Have hunted everyday an seeing lots of deer. Some big bucks have already gone down I see.

Been a long time since i have posted here but see some familiar names. My hunting season so far has been kinda slow. I shot a doe the 2nd day out and have been buck hunting since. I have seen some small bucks, but nothing worth shooting. I put a trail cam out over the summer. Got a lot of pictures of some nice bucks, there is a decent 10, a couple nice 8's and one really big 11 point that has a split brow on the left side. I would be happy to take any of these if i see them but have not seen them yet during the season. One of the 8's did show up at 930 am a couple saturdays ago, but i could not hunt that day due to family obligations.

I got a doe and a decent buck from the deer reduction hunt at Versailles. Going back for the 2nd park hunt this Mon/Tues.

My overall experience this year is the movement seems to be less than previous years. Not sure why. I haven't seen any EHD signs anywhere.

I took out 4 does over Thanksgiving break in Jefferson Co.

I had a very dismal season hunting Parke county. Numbers were down. I could have shot a small 6 pointer and some fawns. I would rather see the deer grow up instead of shooting the button bucks.

I ended up getting another doe at the 2nd Versailles hunt. Numbers there were ridiculously low. 17 deer were harvested on the Monday hunt. There were 89 harvested on the first day of the early hunt.

I cannot see them having a reduction hunt next year, if they do, I will not be in the drawing for it.
