Youth hunting Jo Daviess Co. IL help
 

First, Can someone explain the procedure to obtain the youth deer permits for the Youth hunt days? Is it part of the standard lottery system? Second, Any of the specific public sites in Jo Daviess better than another for any reason (ie. less pressured, better habitat, better early season etc)? Thanks, Bob

Just go to the ILL. DNR web site. This should answere all your questions. Get Ill. Hunter Digest (Publications) from DNR (Free).
It has all the public areas listed, size & site rules. ALL your questions should be answered or CALL them. Some of these places (Public) have special youth season if I remember right.

Thanks for responding Ahunter55. The info is rather confusing. I do know that certain sites have youth hunts which take place on the regular 1st or 2nd shotgun season ; but I'm looking for the youth only deer hunts (usually in October). Between the site specific regs, and state regs; you need a lawyer to figure out the procedure.
