Default morels are up in Illinois!
This is the strangest weather I have ever seen, but it has got the mushrooms popping already. We haven't ever found them before the last couple days of May, but our first usually show up around the 5th or 6th of April. But I will pick them whenever they grow! My brother-in-law, my 6 yr old son and I found a total of 16 yesterday in about 30 minutes. Id guess that 80degree temps all week and hopefully a little rain will really get them in gear.

It has been a really crazy year!! It suprised me how early I was findin' them as well!! I have found around 5 pounds so far in Southern Illinois

A friend of mine show me some he found.Filled up 2 bread sacks nice sizes i might add .By the way I'm from INDIANA.
