Yep! It's already starting to spit where I'm at. I love good storms...winter, spring, summer, or fall. It helps to break up the monotony. Plus it will be good for goose hunting this weekend!!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

No power for 2 days now...it is wearing on my nerves. Already burned about 100 cords of wood trying to keep the family warm. Power went out 6:30am Wednesday - came back &quot;on-line&quot; Friday afternoon! Our basement filled with about 4&quot; of water.... Thankfully, our neighbor brought over a generator so we could use the sump pump. My Dad brought his generator down that evening - from KC. The first 36 hours were COLD..... After that, all I had to do was keep the generator gassed up. Guess what I'm in the market for, now?! <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hey Ks..come on up to Fairbanks AK...they dont put salt down so you end up driving on ice roads all winter long, what fun! They clear the snow by road grators...oh about a week or 2 later depending on how bad it is....a nice layer of ice forms underneath that blade and man is it fun <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>!

Lilhutner, no matter how bad it gets around KC, i doubt it's half as bad as a good day in Alaska<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>...Power went out on us on Wednesday, and woke up freezing on Thursday morning, so my roomate and I drove back to his home town in the bootheel of MO. When we left here it was 18 degrees and 6 hours later, when we got to his house it was 75 degrees...Talk about a change in weather. It was a crazy feeling. But just got back today on Sunday evening and power is back on, so it's better.

right on.....they are throwing salt by the airforce base, other then that I havent seen any around in the 6 years I have been here. Instead of salt they throw dirt and gravel on the intersections...heck just gravel lol. You know you are an resident when ya have 3 or 4 chips in your windsheild and ya look forward to a set of studded tires...that or you have to drive around in 4 wheel drive all winter LOL! After growing up in Mn, the few years I had of driving under my belt there only prepped me for the lack of snow removel and ice removel here!!! but then again..its all worth it come spring <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>!
