Turkey hunting wisconsin
 
Never turkey hunted in wisconsin before and wanted to get a left over tag, was thinking zone 2 maybe grant county on public land. Has anyone hunted the SW region before whats it like looks like they have some public land. any tips thanks

Its a good area... Try to find the small isolated public propertys or the MFL land away from the towns that don't recieve as much pressure.

Managed forest law... Landowners get tax breaks for allowing the public to hunt there land. I just checked my all outdoors atlas and there looks to be a ton of MFL land in Grant county.

Go to the WDNR website and look under "Where to Hunt." Wisconsin has several programs, in addition to MFL, and it explains them there. If you have never been to the area before, it consists of rolling hills (fairly good sized for the midwest), and lots of woods interspersed with open areas.
