Calling during rifle season

I have been hunting WI for about 12 years. We are about an hour north of Green Bay, so generally the firearm season comes well after the rut.

I have tried grunting without success.

Anyone have any tips for calling? Would a doe bleat work at all? The winters have been pretty mild, so maybe the rut would be not long over.

Jus t looking for any advice.

RE: Calling during rifle season

I bowhunt first and foremost, so when I go deer hunting with a rifle (something I do every year as well), I usually take a 30-30 with open sights and walk very slowly...
Or take a 300-Mag with a scope and walk around a bit faster knowing that I can pick them out a bit farther away.
