Ruffed Grouse
 

I am looking for someone that will help me out with grouse hunting either in Michigan or Wisconsin. I live in N. Illinois. I grew up in the south but never hunted them there. Got scared by them a lot though. There are no more natural Pheasants where I live so I want to try for the woods grouse. Thank You.

Northern Wisconsin in peek years have a lot of ruffed grouse. Park Falls Wisconsin calls themselves the Ruffed Grouse capitol of the world. There is a lot of area to hunt in Northern Wisconsin in the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest. There are walking trails, and ATV trails are another good place to walk and try to get them

Having a dog is a large advantage. Especially one that retrieves. They are a lot of fun to hunt, and season starts I believe in September.

This year is going to be great up here in N/W WI. I have been seeing tons of Grouse this year. A good dog and lots of time in the woods is in order this year.:s4:
