Was just down there visiting family. Some of the fields north of Normal, IL are starting to turn. Looks like some of it could be out before the end of September.

I live in Kankakee county and the corn isn't turning, but had been really stressed for lack of rain in July/beginning of August. I think we all can agree, we hope it's out early.

Default Central IL is roasted!

Well in the champaign county area the corn is roasted. Some farmers have actually started harvest already. I would say @ least 75-80% of the corn in central IL will be out by Oct. 1st. It was just so dry this year. Now it will be a different story up north and down in southern IL where I shotgun hunt.

The land I lease, the farmer is starting to cut this week. The hot weather is burning up the corn in the midwest. Most of your corn should be down by hunting season

I was down near peoria on Monday. Corn is starting to turn brown but still has a decent amount of green on it. I don't know much about farming so I can't give an opinion but from what I hear it still has a little bit to go.

Beans are looking grean and nice, I'm really hoping they stay in for a while, got a great stand set up over two connecting bean fields that I'm excited to try!

We where out at the property on Saturday and the corn is real close to being ready to be picked. Most of the ears around the edges are already eaten up.

Default Update

Just returned from an elk/moose hunt out west. Drove thru western Illinois and conditions were very nice and dry. Lots of corn already down, and lots more getting harvested. No need to worry like 2009. All should be down by the rut.
