I hunted Thursday night through Sunday night, and the rut is just starting to kick in imo. We saw a lot of 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old bucks searching for does. I saw 9 different bucks over the weekend, one of them was a 10 I think would have scored in the upper 140's but he didn't offer me a shot. As the weather cools off Thursday the action is going to be really really good. We saw a little bit of chasing but not a ton.

Default Central Wi. Rut...Trempeleau county...

Lots of activity to report. Saturday 10/30:
Saw two bucks, 130 and 140 follow the same trail and check the same scrape 1.25 hours apart. 4:30 pm, 5:15 PM
Lots of does in the field grazing at dark as I walked out....

10/31....WOW

Activity all day. Witnessed a 160 plus chasing does in a hay field for 30 minutes...I was 200 yards away. Same buck chased does today nov.1 8:30 AM to 10 am same field...

Between two seasoned hunters, we saw no less than 10 different bucks in two days, ranging from 160 class down to a couple spikers. majority were 120 class or better.

October 29 had a 125 in 4.5 year old and 135 in 2.5 year old walk in together at 8:20. They got within 40 yards and that was it. Grunted at them and they always looked at me but never would come any closer.

October 31 had a little 6 or 8 cruising across a chopped cornfield noise to the ground and passed a little 3 pointer at 10 yards and he went and started chasing a big doe out in the chopped cornfield.

Cameras showed mature bucks are moving in daylight hours.

Heard from cousin today that a big buck was locked down with one of the white does that is on our property. This is the same time last year she got bred as well.

Default Tremp. Buff. Jackson county....

Big bucks are locked with does. Smaller immature bucks are running around. Does are skittish. I've seen more bucks than does in the past few days.

The next 5-7 days should be pretty good!
