How is the hunting in there now days Primitive Weapon. I have not been in there for 3-4 years. Last year I hunted it, I saw some deer but not like when it first opened of course. I picked up another farm to hunt down there last year so I dont go there The farmers I hunt on want as many does killed as I can legally take.

Like you said, it's not as good as it use to be. I didn't get any deer at SR last year but also didn't spend as much time there as years past.

I am a doe population reduction specialist. If you need some help thinning the doe's on that farm, let me know. I have no problem taking doe's to fill the freezer. Especially in todays economy.

You ever hunt close to the sign in station? I use to kill a lot of deer very, very close to there.

My buddy shot a big 10pt Friday evening, but with the rain all night it killed the blood trail when we went out looking Saturday. Today a friend and his dog are going out looking for him. Ugh.

I about shot a big 8pt right at the same time by buddy shot the 10pt. It was just too dark by the time the 8pt came to me.

Saw a bunch of does this weekend. Several appeared to by pushing their fawns away. The does would run at them and push them off....then stand on their hind legs and swat at them with their front legs. It was pretty wild to see.

I hunt in Randolph county. Saw ten over the weekend jus havent got close enough yet. I'm tryin to stay out of some of my good spots for later in the season but I did see one buck out in a field after dark so the bucks seem to be somewhat active in this cooler weather. I hope it keeps it up and we may see a lot early on in the season. I have found a few rubs probably from some younger bucks but a good sign. We've got all of our corn shelled so should be seein a lot of deer this year. A lot better than last year it was warm and we were shelling into november so the deer were layin in the corn quite a bit. Gonna be a good year good luck
