Blackberries & Raspberries

Well when I was fishing about a week ago I was walking along the pond in the woods trying to find some new secret spots, and I found alot of plants that I think are Black berries and Raspberries. Does anyone know if they are ripe right now, and if there are any poisonous plants that look like one of these berries.

thanks

Impossible to say since you didn’t fill out your profile. No one knows where you are located. Around here neither is ripe. Raspberries will be later this month, black berries next month some time. No look-alikes around here.

Raspberries and blackberries are low to the ground and spread by dropping "canes".

If what you saw was more "tree" like, it might be a mulberry. There are a few growing around my neighborhood and I tend to snack on them when I jog since no one else does :D The mulberry trees around me (NW burbs, IL) have fruit ripening on them at the moment.
