Moving to Pierre, SD

Got a job in Pierre. Anyone on here live in the area? I've heard the hunting and fishing is great. I'll probably be up in the next few weeks to find a house.

I've hunted sharptail grouse, prairie chicken and hungarian partrage(sp?) in/near pierre and nearly limited out on the grouse and praire chicken every day I hunted so there are a lot there. It's also a pheasant mecca as well so, you have that going for you. I also was nearly run over by antelope while hunting the aforementioned birds and I saw several herds while hiking through the fields so you could probably hunt those as well as mule deer (my uncle has some awesome pics of mulies while hunting those birds). All in all, its an awesome place to live if you love hunting!.

I've lived in SD my whole life, fishing for walleye and smallmouth on the river pretty hard to beat. There is not much public land around Pierre so have to find some private to hunt. In SD you can hunt Elk, Mule and Whitetail deer, turkey, pronghorn, ducks ,geese, pheasants, grouse.and I'm sure I'm missing some.
