OTC for residents.....go get your drivers license....etc...

I know some public land areas for gun deer, turkey you may have to apply specifically, not just go and hunt/sign in...

I think for archery deer all public land areas are just go hunt/maybe sign in, though there may be exceptions....in which case you may need to apply for a specific archery tag for a public area...

If you go to the DNR website you have to check each park's hunter fact sheet for the specifics.

Pick up a rule/reg. book from anywhere that you can buy a hunting license. They're free, and probably easier to read than the IDNR website.

The regs don't cover the individual rules that are in effect at all of the different public hunting areas. Do yourself a favor go to the DNR website and look at the hunter fact sheets, they are full of information. The parks are divided by areas of the state, I have printed off the hunter fact sheets and the cheezy maps they have just for refernce sakes.

Almost all public land sites have a registration to hunt there. You'll need to go to the park during business hours and complete a form. They will give you a tally sheet / permit that you need to display in your vehicle. The hunter fact sheets are a valuable resource. They tell you about any limitations, restriction, parking info, season dates, no hunting areas, etc...One thing to be aware of, some of the Pheasant release parks have a limited or shortened bow hunting season.

You will need to have your hunting license, habitat stamp, and permits.
