I e-mailed the ODNR about turkey season.
 

" I am just wondering why it is set so late."
I asked that, a simple question. But all I got was a stupid answer[:@]
" Dear John:
We generally start the spring turkey season on the last Monday of April,
whenever that falls during the month."
Did I miss something or does that not answer the question.

I guess in 2007, it' ll be in on the 30th of April...That' ll sure make for good gobbling. LOL

Not only does that not answer the question, but it' s not even true. Before this year, it has been the third Monday in April. Back in the first few years we had a season, I think it was even the second Monday.

Judging by what I am seeing going on in the woods, I think the birds will cooperate just fine by the time the season opens. I only wish for my sake that it was the third week. I am about to go nuts.

I' d like to talk to you fellows about this but Im to busy scouting, shooting my bow and getting my practicing in on my calls for the opener on the 16th, unit 28:):):)
