Took a button buck from Lowden-Miller late on thursday afternoon. It was the only deer I saw all day on a very cold stand.
My brother ttok a yearling doe that same morning.

I only went out for a couple hours leading to dark yesterday. Had a nice doe and 2 basket rack 6-pointers come in. All gimee shots. I'm fine waitingfor something much, much bigger. I've seen them around. I'll play my hand and either it is one of them or nothing unless there is some big meat available in my sights in the last few minutes tomorrow.

Got back from Macoupin county. My son took a doe Sat afternoon and I finally saw a deer Sun morning at 9:30. It was a small 8 pointer with 2 points broke off. I was down to 2 packages of meat so I was shooting anything. Would have rather took a doe but when you don't see any deer beggars can't be choosers. It was my sons second deer. He had a2 year dry spell till now.
