HEADED TO OHIO THURS FOR A WEEEK TO HUNT.HAS THE RUT KICKED IN YET OR IS IT EVEN GETTING CLOSE? THANKS GUYS.I KNOW IN THE PAST IT HAS BEEN AROUND THIS TIME BUT THE INFO FROM THE GUYS THAT HAVE BEEN ACTUALLY IN THE WOODS WOULD BE A GREAT HELP!

yes it is...i was huinting yester day and had a okay of a buck run by chasing a doe and later on another doe with a buck on its tail....and this buck was a trophy! but unfortunatly i stoped him but he spoked and ran off with the doe... but yes, THE RUT IS DEFINATLY IN BABY! good luck to you....where are u hunting at

hi,express14 i v been hunting about all week seen a few bucks but not on any does just like they are looking around.i hunt just outside of lancaster,oh se of columbus,oh the past two years is when i'v shot my bucks. so around here it looks like they are close to coming in.good luck to you.

Around here it's "On Like Donkey Kong"...but alas I filled my buck tag, so I'm just watching. LOL

Hopefully this week, everything picks up. It's been slow here. Only seeing smaller bucks chasing.

Have not seen any seek-chase activity yet to speak of on the public land i hunt here in NW ohio see the sign of it in scrapes being left to die but no deer runing around i hope it starts soon i can only hunt weekends so hope the woods dont get hit to hard during the week

i shot a nice nine pointer last sunday (9th) at 220 in the afternoon so id say the rut is on in OH

Can't wait to get back in the woods. Hopefully a nice buck comes walking past me, so I can take him. Since I'm not taking any smaller bucks, it's going to be harder to get a buck. Already passed on a nice 10 point that would gross in the 120s. Don't know if he'd net in the 120s but he was a nice buck. Want to see him next year for sure. Well, hopefully I can take a buck cause last year, I didn't get one. Only had smaller bucks walk past, and I'm not going to fill my buck tag on a smaller buck just to say I got a buck. Sometimes, you got to go buckless for a couple years in order for those smaller bucks to get bigger. Hopefully when I hit the woods again a little later this week, the bigger boys are up and moving. 130 or bigger is what I'm after. When I get to the point of only shooting like 4 year olds and up, that's when it'll get harder.

This last cold snap seems like peak rut here in Delaware Co. Dang, I have to stay in this weekend!
