Southeastern Illinois Deer Hunters Supper
 

How many folks are gonna be out and about in the general vicinity of Richland, Jasper, and Crawford counties during either or both of the shotgun seasons? I had said something a while backabout doing a wild game gumbo supper for friends in that area, and some other folks had expressed interest. Probably gonna do it at a friends camp on the Embrass River a couple miles from St. Marie in Jasper County. Still not positive that I am gonna do it, but want to get an idea of how many might be interested.

Move the dinner down to Johnson county, give me the backstraps wrapped in bacon and a 6 pack of Grolsch and I'll be there.

Hell, if you have backstraps wrapped in bacon and Grolsch, i might just say screw the gumbo and show up at your place. If not, folks will just have to settle for rabbit, squirrel, deer sausage, and wild turkey gumbo and Old Milwaukee a bit furthernorth.

I'm there Lanse if your going to do it. I won't be hunting either gun season but would love to hang out at a camp and throw back some cold ones and tell stories.

Of course any stories that you hear at a camp in the Dark Bend on Embarass River can be taken as gospel.[8D]
