Default Wisconsin Rut Reports 2008

To all Wisconsin Archery hunters.....

As the pre-rut/rut approaches I thought it would begood for us to post
and report rutting activity on here. Whether it be scraping, chasing,
or simply more buck activity, post it here and maybe include the general
area/county you hunt. This will keep us all informed with how things
are progressing as this "magical" time of year closes in on us.

Thanks!

Just got back in from the woods here in Dane county, within 10 yards of eachother, I found 3 brand new scrapes. These just happened last night, because they weren't there yesterday when I was out. Still haven't seen much as far as rubs or chasing goes yet.

I won't be huntingtill next weekenddue to the antlerless-only hunt going on,
but amthinking things are starting to happen. I have a 35 min. commute to work and within the last 2-3 days I've noticed more than usual car/deer kills on the highway. Looks like they are starting to move at least around where I live. I hunt in the west-central part of the state and am hoping things get rocking there too.

It sounds as if it would be a great time to start some mock-scrapes ?

Hey guys,

I work on the interstate every day. It's amazing how much the car/deer crashes has gone up in the past 2 weeks. Majority of the deer being hit are smaller bucks too. It's just around the corner, and it will get crazy.
