ohio deer
hello to all you ohio deer hunters.long story shot.im thinking of bow hunitng and im just curious over all is state land good to hunt or a waste of time??i have none in mind but is the state good hunting grounds in general???

sorry ive never hunted state land.I usually can find farmers who are more than glad to have deer taken.I was suprised how bad the deer tear down the corn.On one farm there was trails and bedding areas mashed down all over.

Lots of deer but lots of hunters onpublic land too. Not as bad for bow but shotgun forget it.

The crown city public hunting landis good.. I hunt in the area near it.. the link will take you to the ohio dnr page with a map of the area..11,171 acres covering both lawrence and Gallia counties!

yes, generally good. Don't be afraid to get back in tho. The farther in you get, generally the better off you will be.

Around me there are 2 small tracts (1,500-2,000 acres) of public land that nobody touched during bow season.
I've hunted Wayne Nat'l and if you're willing to hoof it, you'll be alone. |
