Places to deer hunt in central WI?
 

Me and my dad are looking for a place to gun hunt this deer season. It has to be in the central WI area. We live in Wausau, so not too far away. After a failed and not-so-enjoyable deer hunting camp last year, we decided to start hunting in a new area.

I dont know how far you want to travel, but we hunt in black river falls(Clark County Area), the last couple years we have had alot of luck in that area. Good deer numbers. Taken 4 bucks and 6 does in just two years between 5 guys/girls.

Have you looked into hunting any of the Marathon county forest? There is nearly 30,000 acres most of which is fairly close to Wausau.

I thought there was only the Meade. My dad was talking about his friend's farm. The Ninemile seems like a good backup.

I was going to be headed up around Baraboo this fall for the rifle season and hit some state land but just got lucky and got some private land in Southern Illinois. This is the website I had been looking on and looks like there are a decent amount of spots. Good Luck.
