My friend Rich and I will be out there in 2 weeks to hang stands on the farms and put out some cameras, I agree the people are great!!!!

Just how many folks out there hunt in southeast Illinois? I won't be deer hunting this year, but will be around for one or both of the gun seasons as well as part of bow season. I may be getting together with some friends to do a wild game cookout/party on one of those occasions, either at my parents place in Richland County or at my friend's camp up by St. Marie in Jasper County. If anybody is interested in meeting up there, let me know.

In the past, i would cook a big pot of wild game gumbo for the local hunters in my dad's garage south of Claremont. However, my friend that lives on the river in the Bend outside of Saint Marie, just bought an adjacent camp and is turning into a private mens club. I will probably end up doing it there. Folks that want to come early and help or just stand around and drink beer would be welcome.

Plus there is the late evening trip to High Benders to top off the evening with jello shots and Stag beer.
