RE: deer sheds?
Ive found dozens by looking along field edges, food sources, bedding areas, travel trails, water sources and fence lines etc. I prefer to start at a food souce and then follow travel trails back to bedding ares in my search. Just about anywhere a buck will travel is where I look for sheds. In Illinois they are already shedding.:)

RE: deer sheds?
Also look on the southern hillsides. The deer like to lay on the south sides because of the sun and to get out of the northwest wind. Good Luck!!

RE: deer sheds?
I mainly look in the beds and feeding areas and follow some of the trails out to field edges or hill sides.

RE: deer sheds?
The southern slopes that buckmaster68 spoke of are also ideal locations for deer because of the ease of feeding, due to the suns placement in the sky during the winter causes the southern facing slopes to recieve more sunlight during the warmer hours of the day, recieveing more sunlight at a higher melting rate of snow cover than the other slopes, thus providing the deer an area with a thiner layer of ground snow cover that requires less pawing through snow for ease in feeding and browseing.
