They aren't hard to find, and not difficult to identify, why not just pick up some for free?

Check you local golf courses. Hit up the head greenskeeper. I used to work golf course maintinence, and each spring we would pick up all the branches and acorns around the course. we had one area that we picked up at least 2 pick up truck loads from alone. Otherwise, maybe a feed store can help you out.
