I'll be spending a lot of time in the trees tops of the North Kettle Moraine Forest! I can't wait till opening day!

Where in the Northern Kettle's are you hunting? I grew up in that area, and worked for the DNR there for 4 summers and pretty much know that land like the back of my hand. I've seen some real dandy's there throughout the years. I'm looking to get back there a couple times this year to see what I can find.

Fenrick, I hunt around the Mauthe Lake refuge! Pretty amazing spot and its close to home! The fields at the end of cross road, the big fields across from the Zilmer trail parking lot as well as the Jersey Flats! Auburn Lake access toad, in the pines just off the road, some great deer trail coming out of the refuge!

BowHuntinfool, Yeah, that is about as good of a spot as you'll find. I worked with the warden for a year there too, and we saw some real hogs cruising in the Mauthe Lake refuge. The big fields across from the Zilmer trails holds a ton of wildlife. My family calls that land "The Turkey Farm". Turkeys everywhere, deer everywhere, just a solid piece of land. I know that gets pounded pretty hard though. I'm a big fan of the Horserider's camp, right by the refuge too.

BowHuntingFool, I hunt the Kettle Moraine. I huntednext to theMauthe Lake refuge several times this year also.There definately are nice bucks around that area and an unbelievable amount of does. My dad, friends and I have had a lot of good days in the field in the Kettles. It's nice to have a place like that close to home.
