Richland County, IL

I'm looking for a place to hunt in Richland County, Illinois or somewhere nearby. Does anyone know of any public land there or any land to hunt for cheap?

There is no public land in Richland County. Red Hill State park is just a few miles to the east in Lawrence County and they allow bow hunting. There are a couple of other small public access sports up in jasper and crawford counties, but i dont know much about them.

Sam Par State Park in Newton (Jasper County) has some real good hunting. There has been some whopper bucks taken out of there. The Crawford County Conservation Area is pretty decent. I would say it would be a pretty long drive from where your at though. Also in Jasper County there is the CIPS power plant that allows hunting. If I'm not mistaken that is where the biggest bow kill this year in Illinois came from. It was over 200" non-typical.
