RE: Michigan guys

40 acres, Livingston County. About 4 acres in food plots with about another acre this year. I plant a buffet: rape, turnips, sorhgum, chicory, clover, alfalfa, sunflowers. I've used Evolved Habitat's Mega Plot, Antler King's Trophy mix, Quaker Boy Northern Mix, Pheasant Forever's Michigan Mix. I've got about 5 acres of bedding area on my property and the adjacent properties are all secluded and swampy with good bedding area. Each year since I've used food plots I see more and more deer, turkey, pheasants, etc. Food plots work!!!!! Just tonight I saw 8 turkey in my 4 acre food plot from last year still pecking away at anything that's leftover and any new stuff coming up...3 long beards. There are so many good food plot seeds out there that it's tough to pick for only 5 acres.

I own 10 acres in Johannesburg but have access to a few hundred and all of it is backed up to thousands of state land. On my property I have about 2.5 acres planted in Plots. I put in Soybeans, Corn, Rye, Pumpkins, Rape, Sunflowers as well as Pea Patch Plus, Biologic Clovers. I put in a good mixture of stuff. The Summer plots took a beating this past year due to lack of moisture. I'll be giving it one more try again this year while praying for rain the entire summer!!!!

I have 160 Acres In Tawas and have several foodplots with excellent cover. I did some Hinge cutting on the property and it has helped a Ton. Alsohad a 4 acre piece and a 5 acre piece clearcut or I should say selective Cut.
I shoot 6-point or better on my property. Got a nice 8-pointer last archery season.

Troy9, thats a nice deer for Tawas. I hunt a little closer to Au Gres. Haven't ever seen a buck that size yet, but I hunt some friends property and can only make it over to Au Gres once or twice a year (Im always there November 15th though!). Damn gas prices. I'm hoping they'll be a good summer and the winter wasn't too tough this year up there and the bucks will get some good antler growth. Saw 20 -30 does this year but only 4 bucks during gun season. I leta decent 8 pt. walk this year, hopefully next year he will look like your bow kill and be in front of my stand opening morning! Seems like some of those camps closer to Tawas with more acreageget some bigger deer. Send some my way opening day!

What has also helped is that there is a NO SPIKE rule for the county I am in. I am in a DMU area. Puts more bucks in the woods the following year andallows a few more to slip through the cracks and grow yet another year.
