Anyone heard anything about the 08 deer season as far as point restrictions, season dates, ect? I missed all the meetings.

All ive heard so far is that the rifle season starts on November 15. As far as i know, they havnt decided anything else.

I'm thinking this years Deer Season (2008) we may be getting the 4-Point Antler Restriction in our Counties below St. Louis MO.?They are not going to have a later Rifle Season this year that runs into Thanksgiving week until next years 2009 Season.Not sure about them moving the Doe Only Season up from December up to October...I'm thinking that is for the Counties from St. Louis up to Northern MO.?Unless they add a Doe Only Season for us below St. Louis?

Next Steps
March Staff will summarize all the public input, including comments received at the public meetings, online, by mail and on the phone. Biological considerations coupled with public input will form the basis of recommended deer season regulations.

April The Department Regulations Committee will review the recommendations, including those related to antler restrictions in 2008 and season timing for 2009.

May After review, Director Hoskins will present the deer regulations package to the Conservation Commission for consideration.

June The Commission-approved 2008 Deer Information booklet will go to print.

July The 2008 Deer Information booklet will be available from permit vendors.
